Connecting to Facebook
Connecting a Facebook account to Meebo Messenger is a little different than connecting other IM accounts. During the process of connecting to an IM account, when you select Facebook as the account to be added, the New Connection will display a connect to Facebook button.
Click this button to connect to your Facebook account. If you are already logged into Facebook, this will be detected automatically and your Facebook user name will appear in the New Connection dialog. If you are not already logged in, the Connect with Facebook window will open, prompting you for your Facebook login information.
Enter the email address and password you use to log in to Facebook and click Connect. You will be returned to the New Connection dialog and your Facebook user name will appear in the Login field. Click Sign On to add the Facebook account to Meebo Messenger. Note that this will add the Meebo application to your Facebook account and give that application permission to login to Facebook Chat and to access your Facebook data even when you are not logged in.
Restricted Actions for Facebook
Your Facebook buddies will appear in Meebo Messenger, but Facebook will still manage these buddies. This means that you must log in to Facebook to access:
- Facebook group chat
- Blocking Facebook buddies
- Adding and removing Facebook buddies
- Setting your Facebook status message
- Logging in as invisible
