In order to use Meebo Messenger to connect with buddies on IM networks such as Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, MySpace, AIM, ICQ, Gtalk, or the dozens of other networks that Meebo supports, you need to create accounts on these networks and then sign on to them using Meebo Messenger. If you are signed on to a Meebo ID, you can connect your IM accounts and sign on to them automatically when you sign on to Meebo Messenger using your Meebo ID. You can connect more than one account for any network other than Facebook.

To sign on an existing IM account:

1. Click Sign on to more accounts at the bottom of your list of networks. This opens the New Connection! dialog.
2. Enter your login information for the account you want to sign on to in the New Connection dialog:

   
   Network - Click the drop-down menu to see a list of all the IM networks supported by Meebo Messenger. Select a network on which you have an account.

   Login - Enter the login name for the account you want to sign on to. If Windows Messenger or MySpace is selected from Network, this label will change to Email.

   Password - Enter the password for the account you want to sign on to.

   Sign on as invisible - Set this option to have the account you are signing on to set to the invisible presence; this will cause buddies on that network to see you as offline when you sign on. Note that some networks, such as Google Talk and Jabber, do not support the invisible presence. See Presence and Status for more information.

   Add to my Meebo account - Set this option to have the account you are signing on to connected to your Meebo ID. This will allow you to see this account whenever you sign on to Meebo Messenger using your Meebo ID. If you do not set this option, the account you are signing on to will not be available next time you sign on to Meebo Messenger.

   Connect on startup - Set this option to automatically sign on to this account whenever you sign on to Meebo Messenger using your Meebo ID. If this option is not set, the account will still appear in the accounts console when you sign on, but you will have to sign on to it manually. This option is only available if the Add to my meebo account option is set.

3. Click Sign On to sign on to this account (and connect it to your Meebo ID if you set the appropriate options above). All of your buddies on the connected account will appear in the Buddy List. If the account does not connect correctly, you may have incorrectly entered your password. You can update the passwords for your accounts by clicking Accounts at the top of the page.
