The Meebo app for the iPhone or iPod touch allows you to chat with all of your friends on all of your existing social network and IM network accounts, such as Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, AIM, Facebook, and Myspace. It is completely free, and it takes only minutes to get started. To get started with the Meebo app:
Download the Meebo app from the App store or iTunes.
The Meebo app for the iPhone or iPod touch can be downloaded for free. Download it from the App Store on your iPhone, iPod touch, or from iTunes by clicking here.
Launch the Meebo app by tapping the Meebo icon on your iPhone or iPod touch's home page.
The first time you launch the Meebo app you’ll be prompted for your Meebo ID and password. If you have already created a Meebo ID at meebo.com, enter your ID and password to log in and connect with all of your existing accounts. If this is your first time using Meebo, tap Register to create a new Meebo ID.
Choose an name and password for your new Meebo ID.
On the Create Account screen you will be prompted to choose an ID and password, as well as to enter your full name, email address, age, and gender. Once you have entered this information, click Create Account.
- Add your existing IM network accounts to your Meebo ID.
Once you have created a Meebo ID, you will want to add all of your existing IM and social network accounts to it, including those on Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, AOL, Facebook, Myspace, and Google talk. This will allow you to connect to all of your friends on these networks using the Meebo app.
After creating a new Meebo ID, the Select Network screen will open to allow you to start adding IM accounts to your Meebo ID. To add IM accounts:
- Select the network of the existing IM account that you would like to add to your Meebo ID.
The Meebo app will display a list of popular IM networks. If the network you are looking for does not appear, tap More Networks for a complete list of supported networks.
Enter the username and password for your existing account on that network.
You can also choose whether you would like the Meebo app to connect to this account automatically upon startup.
Note: When adding a Facebook account, a separate Facebook login screen will appear to allow you to enter your login email and password.
Continue adding accounts until you have finished adding all of your IM and social network accounts.
You can add accounts on as many networks as you like, and you can add multiple accounts on the same network (with the exception of Facebook, which supports only one account per Meebo ID).
Click Add another network to add another account. If you are through adding accounts, click Done. You can always add more accounts later as described under Managing IM Accounts.
