This describes how Meebo customizes the advertising that it serves you through our sites and services, which include our websites (such as Meebo.com), software applications (like Meebo Notifier or Meebo Firefox Extension), mobile applications and our Meebo Bar and Meebo Rooms services that appear on third-party partner sites (collectively, the "Services").
How customized advertising works. Meebo is an advertising-supported service, which means that we are able to offer our Services without charge to you by displaying advertising on our Services. We try to serve you advertising that we think is most likely to be relevant to you. We do this by taking into account information that you provide us when you register for our Services (like your age and gender) and when you respond to surveys ("Registration Data"). We also consider the content of our partners' sites that you visit where a Meebo Bar or a Meebo Room is present and actions that you take when interacting with the partner site or with our own Services, including the ads that you interact with or the items that you share ("Behavioral Data"). We also may get non-personally identifiable information from our Meebo Bar or Meebo Room partners or from other business partners, which we may add to the data that we have collected about you. We may place cookies on your browser to help us identify your interests and serve you customized advertising.
Meebo does not customize advertising based on personal information, such as your name or email address. Meebo does not associate sensitive interest categories with your browser (such as those based on race, religion, sexual orientation, health, or sensitive financial categories), and will not use such categories when showing you customized ads.

If you opt out, you will still see ads on the Services, but they will not be customized to your interests based on any information we have gathered about you. They may still be customized based on the site that you are currently visiting (for example, you may see a travel ad if you are on a travel site).
Meebo implements your choice to opt out of receiving customized advertising by placing a cookie on your browser indicating your choice. It only applies to the computer and browser that you used when you established the opt-out choice. If you clear your browser cookies, your opt-out cookie may also be cleared and you may have to re-establish your opt-out choice.
If you opt out of receiving customized advertising from Meebo, Meebo may still place cookies on your browser for the purpose of delivering Meebo Services, such as to automatically log you into Meebo if you have requested that service or to deliver advertising that is not customized. Third-party advertising companies. Some of the third-party advertising companies that Meebo works with also collect data about you for the purpose of showing customized advertising to you when you use our Services.
