Reporting into the VP of HR, Meebo's Human Resources Generalist will thrive supporting the company’s 100+ incredibly talented employees in all facets of HR.
How you'll contribute:
- Maintain the daily corporate HR function at Meebo: employee files, all processes and applicable forms, org charts, benefits questions, vacation requests, employee handbook inquiries, option grants, visa and immigration process, etc.
- Maintain the employee handbook and IIPP, including all forms
- Manage benefits open enrollment, including supporting the yearly evaluation of our providers' offerings and levels of service
- Support the development of a fair and rewarding compensation plan
- Maintain current employee data system and help to choose new HRIS system, as necessary
- Make the on boarding process a breeze for new employees and their managers: hold orientation meetings for managers and new employees; ensure completion of paperwork
- Manage employee exits: interviews, documentation, and record keeping
- Ensure we are compliant with state employment, workers compensation and tax laws in all states in which we operate, and that those new employees in remote offices feel part of the Meebo family!
- Help guide managers and employees in our performance management systems and help to further refine performance processes and tools
- Help handle employee relations’ issues, where appropriate.

What we're looking for:
- An HR whiz and generalist who likes working in an open environment, sitting across from his/her manager (and everyone else for that matter)
- An HR professional who can wear many hats, sometimes a few at the same time
- Someone who can bring structure and discipline -- in a fun way
- Proactive, organized, detail- oriented and authentically passionate
- Strong listening, communication, team skills
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4-6 years work experience as an HR professional
- Knowledge of and experience in the following: employment policies and practices (ensuring we are in compliance with CA, NY, IL state and federal employment laws), performance management, compensation, workers’ comp, safety, and benefits.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with managers and employees of all levels
- Skilled and comfortable giving just-in-time advice and counsel to new managers and entry-level employees
- Previous startup experience a plus
